Sunrise Mountain High School’s marching band for the 2018/2019 school year is comprised of more than 109 students; 27 seniors, 35 juniors, 23 sophomores and 24 freshman.  Hailed as “The Pride of Sunrise”, SMHS’s marching band over the years has been recognized in the community and the state as an accomplished group of young musicians. SMHS’s band director is Mr. Davis Smith.

New Band Director

Sunrise Mountain High School is proud to welcome our new band director Mr. Davis Smith.

  • Arizona State University graduate – studied instrumental music education and was in the trumpet studio
  • Spent 2017 student teaching with Keller high school and Indian Springs middle school in Dallas, Texas. Search Google or YouTube for details on these excellent programs
  • 5 years marching various drum and bugle corps
  • Several years on staff at both local high schools and drum corps in both instructional and design capacities

Helping Hand – Sunrise Mountain Marching Band
