The Sounds at Sunrise Marching Band Competition is an exciting annual marching band competition hosted by the Arizona Marching Band Association (AZMBA) and proudly hosted this year at Sunrise Mountain High School in Peoria, Arizona.

On Saturday, October 17, 2026, marching bands from across the state of Arizona will come together for a full day of incredible performances, spirited competition, and celebration of music and the performing arts.

From powerful musical performances and impressive marching formations to creative visual productions and talented color guards, each participating band brings its own unique show to the field. Students spend countless hours rehearsing and preparing their performances, making Sounds at Sunrise an opportunity to showcase their dedication, teamwork, creativity, and passion for the performing arts.

A Day of Music, Competition & Community

Sounds at Sunrise brings together student musicians, color guard performers, directors, families, educators, alumni, and fans from communities throughout Arizona.

Throughout the day, audiences will have the opportunity to watch each band perform and compete for scores and recognition from a panel of experienced adjudicators. The event celebrates not only the competitive aspect of marching band, but also the hard work, growth, and accomplishments of every student who takes the field.

What to Expect:

-       Approximately 20 marching bands from across Arizona

-       Live marching band performances throughout the day

-       Music, choreography, visual productions, and color guard

-       Competitive performances judged by experienced adjudicators

-       A celebration of student musicians and performers

-       A fun event for families, friends, and marching band fans
